STILLWATER, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma State Cowgirls had no trouble taming the Grambling State Tigers 84-40 on Thursday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

OSU (2-0) started off pressuring Grambling State with its defense, forcing the Tigers into just 3-of-25 shooting in the first half and 12 points.

GSU didn’t reach double digit points until the 1:53 mark of the first half.

The Tigers (0-4) committed 26 turnovers on the night, but the Cowgirls were not much better, committing 24 turnovers of their own.

“We are making a lot of mistakes offensively right now,” OSU coach Kurt Budke said. “We’re not all on the same page, but they give me everything they have and at the end of the night
it’s a 44-point win. We held a team to 40 points. We’ll take it and move on to the next one.”

Freshman guard Tiffany Bias of OSU led all scorers with 17 points. Kendra Suttles and Carolyn Blair-Mobley both reached double digit scoring for the Cowgirls.

Toni Young posted a double-double for Oklahoma State with 14 points and 14 boards, and Precious Robinson also added 12 rebounds.

“We?re scrambling, hustling, blocking shots, getting deflections and doing things on defense that’s going to give us a chance to win ballgames,” OSU head coach Kurt Budke said.

The Cowgirls will hit the floor again on Saturday at 2 p.m. as they host Centenary.
