MILWAUKEE – It took a while for the Sooners to wake up, but in the end they pulled out a 76-59 victory against Wisconsin-Milwaukee to open the season.
Guard Danielle Robinson led the No. 10 Sooners with 20 points and 11 assists in the victory.
The Panthers stayed close the entire game, only trailing 37-34 at the half.
OU held a five-point lead with just five minutes to play, but Robinson – who scored 16 of her 20 points in the second half – started a 14-4 OU run to finish the game out.
Freshman Aaryn Ellenberg added 14 points for the Sooners, who started the season on the road for the first time since the 2002-03 season at Tennessee.
Joanna Macfarland and Morgan Hook added 13 points each for Oklahoma.
The Sooners will return home to take on Western Illinois at 7 p.m. on Friday.
