Oklahoma’s Carter a Finalist for Lott Trophy

NORMAN, Oklahoma – University of Oklahoma safety Quinton Carter has been named one of eight semi-finalists for the annual Lott IMPACT* Trophy.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy annually goes to the college football player who has the biggest IMPACT on his team, on and off the field.
Carter, who was named to the American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team earlier this year, is currently Oklahoma’s third-leading tackler with 54. He also has a pair of interceptions, a fumble recovery and four pass deflections.
The eight semi-finalists are from eight different universities across the country. There are four defensive backs, three defensive linemen and one linebacker.
The semi-finalists are: Carter, Sam Acho of Texas, Prince Amukumara of Nebraska, Jeron Johnson of Boise State, Ryan Kerrigan of Purdue, Casey Matthews of Oregon, Patrick Peterson of LSU and J.J. Watt of Wisconsin.
Voting for the four finalists will take place from Nov. 12 through Nov. 24. The finalists will be flown to Newport Beach where the winner will be announced at a gala black-tie banquet at the Pacific Club.
