Sooners Survive in Exhibition Opener
Oklahoma trailed Northern State at halftime, but surged back to notch their first win of the 2010 season.

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Sooners managed a comeback to open their exhibition season with a 75-64 win over the Northern State Wolves Tuesday.
The Sooners opened the game on a 6-1 run, which ballooned in to a 16-9 lead eight minutes into the game, but the Wolves surged back.
Northern State countered with an 11-2 run to take a 20-18 lead, but would trail 27-24 with four minutes left in the half. The Wolves answered with a 9-2 run in the closing minutes to take a 33-29 lead into the half.
The Wolves continued to surge coming out of the locker room and extended the lead to 41-35 in the early minutes of the game.
The Sooners were behind most of the half and trailed 55-51 with 7:37 left in the game. OU rallied with an 11-2 run to take a 62-57 lead and didn’t give it back.
Oklahoma will wait 10 days before resuming their preseason schedule, welcoming Coppin State to Norman Nov. 11.
