OU Coaching Staff Approved for Pay Raises
All nine of Bob Stoops' assistants will receive raises totaling nearly $250,000.

NORMAN, Oklahoma – According to a report by the Associated Press, all nine of Bob Stoops’ assistant coaches were approved for pay raises Wednesday.
The University of Oklahoma board of regents voted to approve the increases in pay, and quarterback coach Josh Heupel will get the largest bump of $50,000. He will now make $250,000 per year.
Coordinators Kevin Wilson and Brent Venables will each receive a raise of $45,000; Venables is set to make $440,000 this year, while Wilson will make $430,000.
OU’s other three offensive assistants – Jay Norvell, James Patton and Cale Gundy – will each make $20,000 more. The three other defensive assistants – Bobby Jack Wright, Jackie Shipp and Willie Martinez – will get $16,500 more.
All told, the football staff will receive almost $250,000 in raises. Head baseball coach Sunny Golloway also got a new contract, receiving a two-year extension through 2015 that includes a $94,000 raise and $15,000 stay bonus.
