What You Need to Know?.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers were riding high and looked like they could possibly cruise to an undefeated birth into the Big 12 title game. Then the Texas Longhorns came to town and shwed the nation that the Cornhuskers’ offense can be shut down. Head coach Bo Pelini benched former Heisman Trophy hopeful Taylor Martinez in the third quarter in an attempt to spark the offense with senior Zac Lee.

Oklahoma State continues to fly under the radar, which is surpring because they are not only No. 11 in the initial BCS Rankings, but they also continue to post jaw-dropping numbers. Offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen has always said the offensive numbers don’t matter to him as long as the team is winning, but being one of the nation’s top passing offenses has to feel good.

Who You Need to Watch?

Pelini has said that Martinez will still be the starter against the Cowboys, but his confidence may be shaken after getting benched in the second half of a two-score game. The true freshman leads the Cornhuskers in total offense by 170 yards so he needs to rebound if the Cornhuskers want to avoid dropping their second straight game. The taks of wrangling the nation’s top receiver falls on senior quarterback Prince Amukamara – who has already broken up five passes this season.

True freshman Joseph Randle was the talk of the town in Stillwater in the week leading up to the matchup with Nebraska. Against Texas Tech, Randle carried the ball 17 times for 95 yards and allowed Kendall Hunter to stay fresh well into the fourth quarter. When Oklahoma State is on the field, it’s hard not to watch Justin Blackmon. The sophomore has broken his career-high mark for receiving yards.
