TULSA, Oklahoma – Dominique Morrison was Oral Robert’s best player a year ago and is still its best player today. Like wine, jeans and most cheeses, the Golden Eagles hope their talented 6-foot-6 sharp-shooter only gets better with age.
The difference between Morrison and jeans, is that he has no restrictions. Denim doesn’t give much, Conversely, Morrison has very few restrictions. Morrison passes well, shoots better and improved in nearly every offensive category from his freshman to sophomore seasons. The forward doubled his assists per game in his second season.
Morrison’s ability to drive past defenders made him deadly on the perimeter. Defenders usually flailed at the ball as he sped by, dreadlocks flapping in the wind. Morrison scored over 15 points per game as a sophomore, good enough for sixth in the Summit League.
He can pass. He can shoot. He’s also durable. Only two Summit League players logged more floor time than Morrison a year ago. The go-to Golden Eagle played 35.2 minutes per game.
