NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma guard Danielle Robinson was named to the Big 12 Preseason All-Big 12 Team Tuesday, joining Baylor’s Brittney Grainer and Melissa Jones, Iowa State’s Kelsey Bolte and Texas A&M’s Danielle Adams.
Robinson, who averaged 16.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game last season, leading the Sooners to the NCAA Final Four. She has racked up accolades during her collegiate career at OU, including being named to the State Farm Coaches’ All-American Team and as a candidate for the Wooden Award. She was named to the All-Big 12 First Team in 2009 and was given Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors in 2008.
Teammate Whitney Hand was given Honorable mention, despite spending much of the 2009-10 season sidelined with a knee injury. Hand, who averaged 13.4 points in her five starts last season, made a impact on her team from the bench by helping head coach Sherri Coale.
Robinson will begin her senior season with Oklahoma on November 4, as the Sooners host the Oklahoma Christian Eagles in an exhibition game at 7 p.m.
