NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma Head Coach Bob Stoops said Sunday that Sooner running back Brennan Clay has been discharged from hospital care and is back in his campus residence. Clay was injured late in Saturday’s game against Florida State.
“We were happy to see big smiles from Brennan this morning,” Stoops said. “Everything has checked out well.”
Stoops said it has not yet been determined how long Clay will be sidelined.
Stoops talked to Dean Blevins, Oklahoma Sports Sports Director of Oklahoma City, during the taping of a weekly television show Sunday, explaining he had paid a visit to his player who was was taken off the field on a stretcher Saturday during the fourth quarter of the Sooners’ game against Florida State. Stoops said he walked in the hospital room while Clay was staying there and Clay was smiling and said he "didn't even have a headache."
Stoops also said doctors had ran a series of tests on Clay, all of which showed positive recovery.
