STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Payne County Court documents confirmed Wednesday that misdemeanor drug charges against Oklahoma State safety Victor Johnson have been dropped.

Johnson was originally charged with drug possession thanks to an incident on July 24, when police reported the smell of marijuana coming from his apartment. According to an affidavit, police discovered a bag containing the drug inside the apartment.
The affidavit also states that Johnson tried to prevent the officers from searching his residence, which caused him to incur an additional charge of obstructing an officer. That charge still stands.
In addition to the obstruction charge, Johnson also is facing charges of driving under the influence in June. He will be back in court Oct. 18 for those two cases.
OSU head coach Mike Gundy has not said whether Johnson will play in the Cowboys’ season opener on Saturday.
