OU coach Bob Stoops announced on his weekly radio show on Tuesday evening that sophomore kicker Patrick O’Hara will be the starting kicker for the Sooners this season.
O’Hara was 6-of-9 on field goals last season and converted 15-of-15 PAT attempts.
He did not play high school football, and his first action in a competitive football game – on any level – came against Texas A&M last season when he hit a 26-yard field goal and had two extra points in a 65-10 victory.
The Sooners kick off at 6:30 Saturday against Utah State in Norman.
