TULSA, Oklahoma -- A late-game Tulsa Drillers’ rally proved successful as Radames Nazario knocked in the winning run with a walk-off single in a 6-5 win.
The teams traded second-inning runs before the Drillers (65-67) opened up a two-run lead. A Jordan Pacheco sacrifice fly and a Scott Beerer single gave Tulsa a 3-1 lead.
Johnny Giavotella added a solo home run for Northwest Arkansas (80-53) in the fourth inning. Then, in the eighth, a bases loaded double by Josh Fields cleared the bases, giving the Naturals a 5-3 lead.
Tulsa tied the game in the eighth on a two-run Chris Blackmon single, setting up Nazario’s ninth inning heroics.
With two outs, the shortstop singled to right field, scoring Jason Van Kooten from second base and giving the Dillers the walk-off 6-5 win.
