Kendall Hunter One of 30 Up for CLASS Award
The Oklahoma State running back was nominated for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award for his dedication to community, classroom, character and competition.

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma State running back Kendall Hunter was named one of 30 nominees up for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award.
The CLASS Award, or Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, recognizes an NCAA athlete, in their senior year, which has demonstrated notable achievements in four categories--community, classroom, character and competition.
Hunter, who sat out half of last season after injuring his foot, has been spot on in the team’s preseason practices, according to offensive coordinate Dana Holgorsen. In addition to his on-field achievements, the senior earning scholastic awards as well. Hunter was named to the second-team academic all-Big 12 last year, earning a spot on the President’s Honor Roll for his 4.0 GPA and honorable-mention Scholar-Baller in 2009 and 2008.
The Pokes’ running back also gives his time for volunteer work. He assisted with the Harvest II Food Drive, visited pediatric cancer patients in Tulsa and Oklahoma City and appeared as a guest speaker at local high schools to talk to students about leadership and hard work.

Holgorsen and staff have big hopes for Hunter this season. While he started just two games last year, he averaged over six yards per carry. His explosive offense will be a lethal weapon for the Cowboys.
The winner of the CLASS Award will be announced at the conclusion of the regular season.
