Tulsa Shock Loses in Front of Presidential Company

WASHINGTON -- The Tulsa Shock dropped its seventh straight contest on the road, losing 87-62 to the Washington Mystics.
On hand to watch the action was President Barack Obama, accompanied by his daughter Sasha, a friend of her's and Shelia Johnson, part owner of the team.
The loss marked the fifth-straight game the Shock (4-21) lost by double digits.
Six players reached double-figures for Washington (14-10). Katie Smith and Monique Currie paced the team with 15 points apiece. Tiffany Jackson added 14 points to lead all Tulsa scorers.
The Mystics put the game out of reach early, outscoring Tulsa 25-9 in the first quarter.
Marion Jones, enjoying her best month as a pro, added four points in about nine minutes of playing time.
