OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks earned their second two-run win over the Round Rock Express Wednesday in a 4-2 victory.
Mitch Mooreland hit his 12th home run of the season in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. Brandon Boggs hit a sacrifice fly to center field in the second inning as Matthew Brown crossed the plate for the 2-0 lead.
The Express battled back in the top of the fifth inning, hitting a homer off Derek Holland to get on the board, but the RedHawks responded with another run in the bottom of the inning to make it a 3-1 game.
Oklahoma put up their fourth and last run of the game when Boggs singled, hitting home Ryan Garko. Round Rock’s Matt Kata hit a homer in the top of the seventh, but it wouldn’t be enough to rally back as the Oklahoma City RedHawks finished the game 4-2.
Shane Loux finished with the loss for Round Rock after pitching six innings. He gave up 10 hits, including four runs, while striking out two batters. Holland improved to 5-1 on the season after allowing only one hit in his five innings on the mound.
The two teams again face each other at the Bricktown Ballpark at 7:05 p.m. Thursday.
