COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Aggies will face the upcoming season without wide receivers coach Steve Kragthorpe, who announced his resignation Monday.

The former Tulsa Hurricane coach said the departure from college football was due to unspecified family medical issues. Kragthorpe served as TU’s head coach from 2003-06, leading the Golden Hurricane to the Conference USA championship.

Kragthorpe left to coach at Louisville, where his team played in three bowl game in his four season tenure. Ultimately, Kragthorpe moved to A&M after being fired from the Cardinals.

He will be replaced by Troy Walters, who played at Stanford before going pro and playing for the Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals and the Detroit Lions.
