Oklahoma City RedHawks Blow Big Lead in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tennessee -- Bryan Anderson’s walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth completed Redbirds rally against the RedHawks as Memphis took a 7-6 victory over Oklahoma City Sunday.

Matt Brown, Mitch Moreland, and Jarrod Saltalamacchia each hit home runs for Oklahoma City. The RedHawks led 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning.

Ruben Gotay hit a three-run homer in the sixth to cut the Memphis deficit to 6-5. Aaron Luna tied the game with a solo home run in the eighth.

Oklahoma City pitcher Cody Eppley walked Joe Mather with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Anderson made him pay with a shot into right field. Mather was able to score from first to complete the comeback.

Eppley (0-1) was tagged with the loss after giving up two earned runs in 1.2 innings.

Josh Kinney (3-4) pitched a scoreless ninth for the win.

The two teams conclude their series at 7:05 p.m. Monday.
