BOSSIER, Louisiana -- The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz improved to 5-7 on the season Saturday night with a 70-44 win over the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings.
The Yard Dawgz fell behind early in the game, trailing the Battle Wings 14-7 at the end of the first quarter, but easily took the lead after putting up 28 points in the second quarter. Timon Marshall caught two 11-yard passes for two touchdowns, while teammate Craig Fulton Jr. caught a 33-yard pass from quarterback Tommy Grady for the quarter’s third TD.
Oklahoma City continued to outscore its opponent in the final two quarters of the game, including a 38-yard pass from Grady which Chad Cook ran in for the game’s last touchdown, clinching the 26-point victory for the Yard Dawgz.
Cook led the team in rushing with 10 yards, while Fulton Jr. led in receiving with eight ball received for 112 yards and four touchdowns. Grady completed 23 of his 34 attempted throws, allowing two interceptions on the night. He threw for 273 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Battle Wings were led by quarterback Jimmy Welker, who completed 22 of his 43 attempts, allowing for one interception and throwing for 210 yards. PJ Berry caught seven passes, recording 98 yards for three touchdowns.
The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz host the Iowa Barnstormers July 10 at 7:05 p.m.
