SPRINGDALE, Arkansas -- The Tulsa Drillers’ hot hitting earned them a 12-7 win over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. The victory marks the only win the team recorded over the Naturals in a four-game series.
Tulsa’s Ryan Harvey hit two homers in Thursday’s game, but also shared the limelight with teammates Jason Van Kooten and Charlie Clackmon, who each got three hits off the Naturals’ pitchers. Harvey, Bronson Sardinha, Wilin Rosario, Kiel Roling and Scott Beerer also had luck against Northwest Arkansas, notching two hits apiece.
The Naturals jumped to an early 2-0 lead, but the Drillers quickly caught up. A solo home run by Harvey tied the game in the fourth inning.
Northwest Arkansas battled back, when Clint Robinson hit a homer to once again take a lead. The Drillers’ hot bats went back to work, driving in four runs in the fifth inning to take the lead--which the Naturals wouldn’t gain back.
The Drillers notched six more runs, while the Naturals posted four additions runs.
Tulsa walked away with the 12-7 win to improve to 30-41 on the season. They will begin their four-game series against the Springfield Cardinals on Friday at 7:10 p.m.
