TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa Shock returned home after a four-game road trip, but its woes continued in a 92-78 loss to the Minnesota Lynx Saturday.
The loss was the fifth in a row for the Shock (3-8), the last two both coming against the Lynx, which had only two wins in their first 11 games of the season.
Minnesota (4-9) gradually built its lead all night, outscoring the Shock in every quarter. The two teams had almost identical shooting percentages, but Tulsa attempted 11 fewer shots. The Shock’s lack of offensive production was largely thanks to 21 turnovers.
Meanwhile, the Lynx were on fire from beyond the arc. They attempted a total of 19 3-pointers and made 12 of them, while Tulsa shot just 36 percent from long range.
Candice Wiggins led all scorers with 19 points for the Lynx, and Rebekkah Brunson finished with a double-double, scoring 14 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
Scholanda Robinson led Tulsa with 14 points, while Alexis Hornbuckle scored 12 and Natasha Lacy added 10 points off the bench.
The Shock will immediately hit the road again for its next game at noon Wednesday against the Atlanta Dream.
