OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks swept the New Orleans Zephyrs in a doubleheader 4-1 and 7-0 in a makeup for the rained-out matchup from Monday.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia started the scoring for Oklahoma City (36-28) with a solo home run in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead.
New Orleans (30-33) tied the game two innings later on a Mike Lamb RBI single to right field to score Gookie Dawkins from third.
In the bottom of the fifth with Saltalamacchia on third, Andy Jenkins singled to left field to take a 2-1 lead. Two at-bats later, Hernan Iribarren doubled to left field to score Jenkins from second and take a two-run lead. Chad Tracy hit into a sacrifice double play in the bottom of the sixth to bring Chris Davis home and take a 4-1 lead.
Doug Mathis (2-2) pitched a complete game for Oklahoma City, giving up just one earned run on nine hits and striking out six. Sean West (2-1) received his first loss this season, giving up four earned runs in his six innings of service.
In the second game, the RedHawks scored all seven of their runs in the bottom of the second inning.
With one out and the bases loaded, Esteban German doubled to left field to score Chad Tracy and Andy Jenkins to take a two-run lead. Two at-bats later, Mitch Moreland doubled to right field to score Kevin Richardson, Brandon Boggs and German to make it 5-0. After a pitching change, Chris Davis hit a sacrifice fly to bring Moreland home and push the lead to six runs.
Ryan Garko capped off the scoring with a solo home run in the next at-bat to give Oklahoma City a 7-0 lead.
Another Zephyrs pitcher was credited with his first loss of the season. Albert Mendez (2-1) was pulled after giving up six hits and six earned runs in 1.1 innings pitched. Mitch Ballard (4-4) earned the win for the outing, pitching a complete-game shutout, striking out eight.
