Drillers Shut Out Midland in Series Opener

Tulsa's pitching shut down the RockHounds bats holding Midland to three hits.

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Drillers opened their series with Midland on the right foot with a 2-0 victory over the RockHounds Wednesday. Tulsa held Midland to just three hits.

Wilin Rosario was responsible for the only two runs of the game. He hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the second to give Tulsa the lead for good.

Midland never advanced a runner beyond second base.

Bruce Billings (4-3) earned the win for the Drillers after pitching seven scoreless innings.

Travis Banwart (4-3) gave up two earned runs in six innings of work and was tagged with the loss.

The two teams continue their series at 7:05 p.m. Thursday.
