TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa quarterback Justin Allgood has a shot at team history this Saturday when the Talons take the field against the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. The fifth-year quarterback needs just 85 yards passing to become the franchise’s all-time leading passer.
If he picks up the yards against the Battle Wings, Allgood will pass Craig Strickland’s record of 10,509 yards through the air.
“The opportunity for Justin to break Craig’s record is a great thing,” said Talons head coach Mitch Allner. “It’s an attest to how hard he works on and off the field.”
Allgood entered the team’s Week 8 matchup against Oklahoma City needing 263 yards to equal the team mark. He finished with 178 yards and six touchdowns against the Yard Dawgz.
Earlier this season, Allgood passed Strickland’s career touchdown mark with a five touchdown performance against Dallas. Heading into this week’s game against Bossier-Shreveport, Allgood has thrown 50 touchdown passes this season.
“He works so hard that when it comes to game time, it comes easier to him because of the time he puts in outside the field,” said Allner.
Game time for Saturday night’s game is set for 7:05.
