Tulsa, Oklahoma -- The Drillers opened a three-game series against the Arkansas Travelers with a 2-1 win Tuesday.
Tulsa (10-15) got on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a Daniel Mayora home run to take a 1-0 lead. Kiel Roling hit a sacrifice fly to left field to bring Ryan Harvey home and give the Drillers a two-run advantage.
Keith Weisler (2-2) was credited with the win for Tulsa after giving up just one earned run on seven hits in seven innings. The Travelers (10-14) got eight innings of service from Tim Kiely (2-3), who surrendered two runs on six hits in eight innings of service.
Arkansas scored its only run in the bottom of the fifth when Efren Navarro scored on a Clay Fuller groundout to short stop. The Travelers never threatened after that, only allowing one runner to reach scoring position in the next four innings.
Tulsa and Arkansas play the second game of the series at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday.
