JACKSONVILLE, Florida -- Minutes after he watched his team lose on the final play for the second week in row, Tulsa Talons owner Henry Primeaux couldn’t hold back his displeasure during a postgame radio interview.
“We’re sick and tired,” Primeaux said to KRMG game host, Rick Couri.
He wasn’t talking about the team’s performance. He was steamed about the way things have been run so far in the Arena Football League.
The Talons made the jump from the much smaller AF2 indoor football league to the AFL this season. The absence of readily available postgame statistics for the radio broadcast during the Talons’ game in Jacksonville Saturday night didn’t please the team’s outspoken owner.
“We had this in the AF2,” he said. “We’re really tired of them making mistakes.”
Adding to his frustration was the way the team lost. The Sharks completed a short touchdown pass on one final untimed down to beat the Talons, 62-60. After starting the season 2-0, the Talons have now lost two straight road games by a combined three points.
The team returns home to play the Alabama Vipers next Saturday at the BOK Center. That game kicks off at 7 p.m.
