OKLAHOMA CITY -- Since being drafted No. 3 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it’s been a busy time for former Oklahoma defensive lineman Gerald McCoy.
Just one day after being drafted, McCoy was introduced as the newest member of the Tampa Bay squad April 23. Just one day later, McCoy was back in Oklahoma City taking in the Thunder’s game four victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound defensive tackle will travel to Tampa to participate in mini-camps with his new team Thursday and begin his professional career.
During his three years playing for the Sooners, McCoy appeared in 40 games, accumulating 83 tackles, 14 1/2 sacks and 33 tackles for loss.
Tampa Bay opens its season at 1 p.m. EST Sept. 9 at home against the Cleveland Browns.
