NASHVILLE, Tennessee -- The RedHawks dropped their second contest of a four-game series with Memphis 4-2 Wednesday afternoon.
The Sounds (9-5) got on the board first with in the bottom of the third with a Jonathan Lucroy double to left to score Norris Hopper. In the next at-bat, Trent Oeltjen singled to left to bring Eric Farris home as the Sounds to a 2-0 lead.
Adam Heether then homered to left field in the next inning to extend the lead to three runs.
Oklahoma City (9-5) answered with a Craig Gentry two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to close the gap to one run.
Nashville gave itself breathing room in the bottom of the fifth, though, with an Oeltjen sacrifice fly to right.
That ended Guillermo Moscoso’s (0-1) day. Moscoso gave up five hits and four earned runs in five innings.
Chris Waters (2-0) pitched 7.0 innings for the Sounds, giving up five hits, two earned runs and striking out five.
The RedHawks and Memphis continue the four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Thursday.
