COLUMBIA, Missouri -- Oklahoma State lost its third straight conference game 9-2 to the Missouri Tigers Friday.

The Cowboys (19-13, 3-7) got on the board first with a Davis Duren solo home run to left field in the top of the third inning.

Missouri (19-14, 4-6) responded in the next inning with a Brett Nicholas two-run home run to left field to take a 2-1 lead. Later in the inning with two outs, Russell LaFleur singled up the middle to score Dane Opel. LaFleur would add to the Tigers’ lead in the bottom of the sixth. A fielder’s choice to second allowed Nicholas and Andreas Plackis to score and expand the Tigers’ lead to 5-1.

OSU pitcher Thomas Keeling (3-4) was the losing pitcher on the day, going five innings while giving up four earned runs on three hits.

Nico Rosthenhausler scored in the top of the seventh on a balk by Missouri pitcher Nick Tepeseh (3-3), but that was the last run the Cowboys would score.

Tepeseh was the winning pitcher for the night, pitching seven innings, giving up only four hits, two earned runs and striking out eight. Kelly Fick received a save for his two innings of work.

The Tigers put the game out of reach in the bottom of the eighth inning with another four runs to take a 9-2 lead. Dane Opel started the scoring with an RBI single up the middle to score Nicholas. Two at-bats later, Blake Brown singled to right to score Opel and Garcia followed with a single that scored both Brown and LaFleur.

Oklahoma State and Missouri continue their weekend series at 3 p.m. Saturday in Columbia.
