TULSA, Oklahoma – With the team’s annual spring game just a few days away, Golden Hurricane football coach Todd Graham is ready to watch his team perform in game situations.

“We’re still out here trying to get better every day,” said Tulsa’s fourth year head coach. “It’s a 15th practice. We’ve got to get better that day.”

Saturday, the team will scrimmage at H.A. Chapman Stadium, hoping to show off a revamped offense under new offensive coordinator Chad Morris. The game will kickoff at 6 p.m. and is free to fans.

“I love getting to see the fans,” said Graham. “It’s a lot more intimate setting for the fans, and I like that, and our players like that.”

Graham added that he has been impressed with his team’s dedication to getting more physical so far this spring. Last year, Tulsa allowed the most sacks in Conference USA and only got to the quarterback 25 times.

Fans will have the opportunity to see this year’s crop of TU players during the team’s FanFest. The festivities include a live band, inflatable games and food and drinks. The pigskin party starts at 4:30 p.m.

The annual Legends Game will precede the main event. The Legends Game features 2009 Golden Hurricane seniors playing a flag football game against past TU players. That begins at 5, followed by the spring game at 6.
