OKLAHOMA CITY -- A walk-off wild pitch gave the Oklahoma City RedHawks a 4-3 victory over Albuquerque Friday.
Esteban German was safe at home to give the RedHawks (1-1) their first win of the season after Luis Ayala’s wild pitch. German led off the bottom of the ninth with a double to center and was moved to third after a sacrifice bunt.
John Lindsey’s two-run double in the eighth inning brought the Isotopes (1-1) even with the RedHawks 3-3. Hernan Iribarren’s throwing error on the preceding play allowed both Isotopes runners to take an extra base.
The RedHawks did most of their damage in the seventh inning. Andy Leach scored on a wild pitch to tie the game 1-1. Later in the inning, Chad Tracy hit a two-run single to left which gave Oklahoma City a 3-1 lead.
Lindsey scored the first run of the game in the fourth inning on a Jamie Hoffman single.
Jailen Peguero (1-1) earned the win for the RedHawks after not allowing a run in 1.1 innings. Luis Ayala (0-1) was tagged with the loss for the Isotopes after his wild pitch.
The two teams continue their four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.
