ARLINGTON, Texas -- ORU snapped a three-game losing streak with a 7-4 win Tuesday over the University of Texas at Arlington.
The Golden Eagles (12-13) got on the board first in the top of the second with a Chris Elder solo home run to take a 1-0 lead.
UT-A (14-15) responded in the bottom of the second with a Cody Dyving two-out, two-run single to give the Mavericks a one-run lead.
The teams traded leads again in the third by exchanging groundout RBIs, and ORU tied the game in the fourth on a Brett Sowers groundout that scored Elder.
Oral Roberts took the lead in the fifth inning when Colby Price scored on a Nick Baligod infield single. The Golden Eagles added to their lead when Tyler Saladino scored on a poor throw by Maverick catcher Chad Comer to take a 5-3 lead.
Sean Johnson came on in relief for ORU and received a win for his three innings of service by giving up two hits, striking out four and only giving up one run.
Mark Picca received the loss after giving up three runs on four hits in two innnings.
