SPRINGFIELD, Missouri -- Missouri State completed a three-game sweep of Oral Roberts with a 15-1 victory over the Golden Eagles Sunday.
Travis McCormick’s solo home run in the bottom of the first gave the Bears (10-17) an early 1-0 lead. Keenen Maddox three-run shot in the fourth put MSU on top 4-0. Aaron Conway continued the hit parade in the sixth with a two-run homer giving the Bears a 7-0 advantage.
Nick Baligod’s solo shot in the top of the eighth marked the only run of the game for the Golden Eagles (11-13).
MSU answered right back in the bottom half of the inning. Tyler Paxson and Beau Stoker each hit two-run homers to make it a 15-1 game.
Bryce Smolen (2-2) was tagged with the loss for ORU after giving up six earned runs in five innings. Mike Kickham (4-3) threw seven scoreless innings, scattering six hits.
Oral Roberts will be back in action at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday in Arlington, Texas, against UT-Arlington.
