STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma State senior Andrea Riley has been named the 2010 Nancy Lieberman Award winner, honoring the top female point guard in Division 1 college basketball.
The main criteria for the award are floor leadership, play-making and ball-handling skills.
"It is an honor to win such a prestigious award. I could not have achieved this without my family, teammates and coaching staff," Riley said in a release. "It makes it even more special to win an award named after Nancy Lieberman because she has been a great friend and inspiration to me."
Lieberman is a former WNBA player and coach and is the first female to coach in the NBA's D-League.
Riley, a native of Dallas, was the nation's leading scorer with 26.7 points per game. She also led the Big 12 with 6.5 assists per contest.
University of Oklahoma point guard Danielle Robinson was also a finalist for the award along with Ohio State's Samantha Prahalis and Gonzaga's Courtney Vandersloot.
Riley is the first player from an Oklahoma college to win the award.
