STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma State Cowboys are halfway through spring drills, and despite losing key players on offense, the Pokes are realizing where their strengths are.
OSU lost offensive tackle Russell Okung, quarterback Zac Robinson and wide receiver Dez Bryant, but they return All-American Kendall Hunter.
The senior running back was out much of last season after injuring his ankle, but has looked strong in spring drills.
“I like what I see when you hand him the ball,” offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen said. “I think Kendall is the type of kid and the type of running back that would be good in any system.”
The Cowboys’ offense ran 115 plays in only an hour, highlighting where they need to sharpen up.
“I need to be quicker, process everything quicker,” quarterback Brandon Weeden said. “There were times I did that today. I felt like organizing and maneuvering the offense, I was smooth.”
