NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma softball (27-8, 1-1) team topped No. 4 Missouri 9-0 in six innings to split the season series with the Tigers (23-4, 1-1).
Keilani Ricketts (16-7) was dominant in her six innings of work, only surrendering one hit and three walks, while striking out eight. The freshman left-handed pitcher retired the final seven batters she faced to end the game in the sixth.
The Sooners struck first in the third inning, when Jessica Shults homered to left field to bring Krystle Huey home, who had reached on a throwing error two batters earlier. Those two RBIs were the first of five for Shults, including a two RBI single in the fourth and a solo home run in the seventh.
The game was called in the bottom of the seventh after a Dani Dobbs two-run home run that give OU a 9-0 lead.
Oklahoma next heads to Ames, Iowa to start a two-game series with Iowa State Friday.
