OKLAHOMA CITY -- The entire Oklahoma City Thunder team helped Oklahoma City’s Rebuilding Together March 25.
Players assisted with the renovation of Oklahoma City resident Rugena Mothershed-Blonner’s home and her adopted grandson Kenyeah.
“[Helping fans] means a lot. They support us, they make us who we are,” Thunder forward Kevin Durant said. “All of us genuinely care about families like this.”
The Thunder players worked on projects that included repairs and painting in 8-year-old Kenyeah’s bedroom, closet and bathroom.
“It had to be Thunder blue,” said Kenyeah. “They’re my favorite team.”
Head coach Scott Brooks, general manager Sam Presti and members of the Thunder staff worked on repairs March 23.
Rebuilding Together Oklahoma City has worked on more than 1,260 homes, totaling $12 million in repairs in its 18 years of existence.
