OKLAHOMA CITY -- About a month remains until the 2010 NFL Draft and the St. Louis Rams are leaving no stones unturned.

Holding the top pick, the Rams have been in contact with top University of Oklahoma prospects Sam Bradford and Gerald McCoy, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

"All the people who are in the discussion (for No. 1 overall), we've talked to their agents," Rams executive vice president of football operations Kevin Demoff told Thomas. "We're really just comparing notes. Also, it may take some time, so we figured we'd get a head start."

Thomas noted the Rams had also spoken to Jimmy Clausen of Notre Dame and Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska.

In past drafts, top picks had negotiations completed prior to actually being selected – including the most recent No. 1 overall picks, Matthew Stafford and Jake Long.

"The goal is to get the right deal for the right player that you want to draft," Demoff said. "If that happens before the draft, great. If it doesn't happen before the draft, then we'll spend May, June and July working on it."

Bradford is holding his pro day on March 29. Bradford will only throw for teams and will not participate in any drills. An interview session initially scheduled after the workout was canceled Thursday morning.
