KENT, Ohio -- Tulsa has come up a little bit short all year, but on Wednesday, it cost the Golden Hurricane its season. Ben Uzoh’s game-winning jumper was off the mark, as the TU fell 75-74 against Kent State in the opening round of the NIT.

Tulsa had a nine point advantage in the second half but could not maintain its lead. The Golden Flashes outscored the Hurricane 47-39 in the second half.

Kent State pulled to within two points of Tulsa late in the first half before the Golden Flashes went cold from the floor. Kent did not score a point for a little more than four minutes. Meanwhile, the Golden Hurricane went on a 6-0 spurt to take a 29-21 lead. TU took a lead into halftime 35-28.
