NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma put up a 10-point fourth inning and knocked off Northern Iowa 11-1 on Sunday. With the victory, the Sooners finish the Oklahoma Spring Festival undefeated.
OU did most of its damage in the bottom of the fourth, scoring 10 runs on 10 hits.
The Sooners put their first batter of the inning on base after she was hit by a pitch and Lindsey Vandever singled to left to advance her to second. After Brianna Turang loaded the bases on a sacrifice bunt,Dani Dobbs singled to left field to bring home two runs.
Katie Norris was up next. She singled to right center to bring Turang home and advanced to second on the throw. The next batter, Karolyne Long, singled to bring Dobbs home.
After Long stole second, Haley Nix homered to score three and expanded the lead to 8-0.
Northern Iowa continued to have pitching issues, and after two batters reached base, Keilani Ricketts homered to left and brought home the final three runs for OU.
The game was suspended after the fifth inning due to the 10-run rule.
Oklahoma has now won seven straight and is back in action Monday against the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
