STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma State pitcher Tyler Lyons threw a complete game in the Cowboys 5-3 win Friday over UMass. OSU improved to 5-2 on the year, while the Minutemen dropped to 0-1.
Lyons had a season-high eight-strikeouts and earned his first victory of the year. The southpaw pitched his seventh-career complete game.
Dennis Green’s three-run homer to right-center field in the sixth inning put the Cowboys on top for good. Green was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
The two teams return to action Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
