ORU Falls in Summit League Semifinal

The Golden Eagles were unable to overcome an early deficit, despite a late-game offensive push.

SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota -- Oral Roberts took an early lead against IUPUI, but a big scoring drought in the first half created a deficit that they couldn’t overcome and they fell 69-65.


Eight minutes into the half, IUPUI’s Robert Glenn hit a layup that sparked a 16-0 run. The Jaguars ended the half on a 7-2 run that gave them a 42-25 halftime lead.


Glenn led all scorers with 12 points and six rebounds in the first hlaf, while Michael Craion led Oral Roberts with seven points.


The game remained a stalemate for most of the second half until 9:30 left in the game, when ORU went on a 24-4 run to take a 61-60 lead.


IUPUI answered back with a 4-0 run to retake the lead with 2:26 left in the game. Oral Roberts had chances to take the lead, but couldn’t hit shots late and the Jaguars moved on to the Summit League final.


Craion led all scorers with 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Glenn led IUPUI with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Leroy Nobles contributed 17 of his own to the cause.
