TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa softball team jumped above .500 for the first time since February 13 on Sunday with wins over North Dakota and Nebraska.
The Golden Hurricane recorded nine extra base hits in its 13-7 win over the Fighting Sioux, including a single game record tying four home runs.
Junior Jordan Kinard earned a win in relief, improving to 3-2.
In its second game of the day, Tulsa totaled six runs on seven hits to defeat Nebraska, 6-4. The victory marked the third of the weekend against the Cornhuskers.
The Golden Hurricane jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but Nebraska tied the score with two runs in the third inning and took a 4-2 lead in the top of the fourth with a solo home run and an RBI single.
Tulsa answered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead for good.
Senior Jackie Lawrence got the victory against Nebraska, improving to 4-4 on the season.
Tulsa (11-9) totaled 19 runs and 25 hits in its two games.
Next up for the Golden Hurricane is a trip to Stillwater on Tuesday for a showdown with Oklahoma State.
