WACO, Texas -- Oral Roberts earned its second win of the season with a 6-5 comeback win over Baylor.
The Golden Eagles fell behind early and found themselves down 3-0 by the end of the second inning.
In the fourth, pitcher Seth Furmanek scored on an error by the shortstop to put the Golden Eagles’ first run on the board. Oral Roberts put one more on the board off of a Joey Winiecki single that brought Brett Sowers home.
After giving up one more run in the fourth, Oral Roberts pulled Furmanek in favor of Jeff Burleson. Burleson gave up one run in his first inning of service, but held Baylor scoreless for the rest of his three innings.
ORU took the 6-5 lead in the sixth inning on four unearned runs by Winiecki, Bennett Pickar, Tyler Garewal and Tyler Saladino.
The Golden Eagles have three more matchups with the Bears; a doubleheader on Saturday (1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.) and the series closer Sunday at 1 p.m.
