TULSA, Oklahoma -- After dropping three straight games to Florida International, Oral Roberts grabbed its first win of the season by beating the University of Central Arkansas 4-3 in 10 innings.
UCA struck first in the third inning when Ethan Harris hit an RBI single to bring Andy Fox home.
The Golden Eagles immediately answered with a two-run RBI single by Chris Elder, making the score 2-1 ORU.
Central Arkansas would even up the score in the top of the fourth when Bobby Pritchett scored on an error in center field.
In the bottom of the seventh, ORU looked like it took control of the game when P.J. Sequeria doubled into left field to bring Tyler Garewal home. But the Bears responded in the next half inning when Harris scored off of a Blake Roberts RBI.
After a scoreless ninth, Oral Roberts closed it out with a Brett Sowers RBI double that scored Sequeria.
Mark Guest pitched seven-plus innings for the Golden Eagles, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out six and walking two. Bryce Smolen earned the win after retiring all three batters in the top of the tenth.
The Golden Eagles are back in action Friday against Baylor in Waco, Texas.
