WICHITA, Kansas – The Tulsa Oilers ended a three-game losing with a 5-1 win over Wichita on Wednesday night.
After a scoreless first period, the Oilers took advantage of the powerplay and scored twice in a 30-second span midway through the second period. Wichita’s Kevin Cooper cut the Tulsa lead to 2-1 with a powerplay goal of his own, but Jake Riddle made it a two-goal game heading into the final period by scoring with under a minute remaining in the second.
Riddle would add another goal at the 16:05 mark of the third period and Tyler Butler rounded out the scoring by putting one in net with 6:57 remaining.
Marty Magers made 30 saves and picked up the victory, while Ian Keserich made 37 saves and took the loss.
The Oilers (25-22-5) will try to make it back-to-back wins when they take on Missouri on Friday.
