STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- It was a huge recruiting weekend for Oklahoma State, literally. The Cowboys hosted more than 100 prospects in Stillwater for Junior Day Sunday.
David Glidden walked away with an offer from OSU. The Mustang receiver got his first offer from the Cowboys Sunday and the 5-foot-8, 160-pounder, felt like the big man on campus.
“It was very humbling,” Glidden said. “I wonder if and when the day would come. Sitting in coach Gundy’s office, it couldn’t have been better.”
Here is what some of the other Oklahoma prospects in attendance had to say:
OL Dylan Laurens, Duncan: “It was very informative and the facilities were amazing. I was very impressed. There were a lot of recruits there.”
QB Sawyer Kollmorgen, Jenks: “It was good. I got to see the facility and they kind of showed us the offense they will do next year because of the new coach and how they will teach it. We saw the weight room and theatre room. Both were really nice.”
ATH Kevin Rucker, Tulsa Central: “It was pretty cool. They showed us around and we had a good time. Due to the weather we couldn’t visit the academic center? I’d give the visit an eight [out of 10].”
DE Derrick Luetjen, Hennessey: “It went great. We got to see the new facilities in the west end zone, it blew us away. Due to the weather we didn’t get a chance to go and see the housing where the athletes stay... I’ll give in a nine.”
ATH Emilio Gatewood, Millwood: “They gave us a tour of everything. Then we broke off into position groups. We sat in with Keith Toston and Kendall Hunter. I measured myself against them and I was happy that I was the same height as Kendall... It was an eight.”
OL Garrett Gladd, Sallisaw: “We just got to tour the facilities but they were really nice. I’d give it between an eight or nine.”
RB Issac Bennett, Booker T. Washington: “It was alright, I learned a lot about their program. They talked to us about what they did and what life would be like at OSU?I’d give it a six because they showed favoritism. But I liked their facilities [laughs].”
LB Kentrell Brothers, Guthrie: “It was good. Their facilities are amazing. I didn’t get to talk to the coaches much though.”
DE Daniel Davis, Norman North: “It was alright. A lot of kids there?I’d give it probably a four. The facilities were cool but I’d already seen them?It probably wasn’t as bad as I’m making it sound. I went to a school dance [Saturday] night and didn’t get home until two, so I was exhausted.”
