STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Former Oklahoma State coach Sean Sutton was charged with four felonies and pled not guilty Tuesday afternoon.
Payne County prosecutors filed charges of obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud, unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a prescription, attempted possession of controlled dangerous substances and use of a communications device to facilitate a felony.
The charges come after Sutton’s arrest a week earlier for attempting to fraudulently obtain shipments of Adderall and Clonazepam.
Sutton admitted to Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs officials that he is battling an addiction to pain killers.
Sutton remains free on bail, but was not present in court on Tuesday. He entered his plea through his attorney Trace Morgan.
