TULSA, Oklahoma – It took an extra period, but Tulsa topped Mississippi 3-2 at the BOK Center on Friday night.
The RiverKings took an early lead with a Elias Godoy goal at the 15:48 mark of the first period. Tulsa would tie things at 1-1 five minutes later when Sean Erickson put one in net.
After a scoreless second period, the Oilers took a 2-1 lead right out of the gates in the third period with a T.J. Caig score at the 18:24 mark. The RiverKings would not go away, though, scoring with 8:23 to go.
After neither team scored in the final minutes, Tulsa would made quick work of Mississippi in overtime with a Dan Riedel powerplay goal just under a minute into the extra period.
