EL PASO, Texas -- The Tulsa Women snapped a seven-game losing streak against Tulane and tried to start their climb out of the Conference USA cellar.

A late first-half push from the Miners was too much to overcome, and the Golden Hurricane fell to UTEP, 75-58.

Both teams went on big runs in the first half, trading leads three times, until the Miners went on an 18-8 run to close out the first half and expand the lead to 40-30.

An early 8-0 run closed the lead to five points, but a nearly six-minute scoring drought doomed Tulsa to another conference loss.

Larissa Williams led the Golden Hurricane with 18 points and shot an even 50 percent for the game, but Tulsa could not overcome a poor performance from the rest of its players. Collectively the team shot 36.2 percent and 38.5 percent from behind the arc.

It was a solid bench performance that carried the Miners to victory. Timika Williams and Briana Green combined for 30 points, 17 and 13 respectively, while the UTEP starters only scored 38.

The Golden Hurricane will try to grab another win at the Reynolds Center Feb. 12 against the Houston Cougars.
