INDEPENDENCE, Missouri – The Tulsa Oilers overcame a two goal deficit and knocked off Missouri 3-2 in a shootout on Friday.

The Mavericks took a 2-0 lead with a goal by Toby Lafrance in the first period and a second period score by Nick Sirota.

The Oilers would storm back in the third period with goals by Troy Riddle at the 13:02 mark and a T.J. Caig score with one minute remaining.

Neither team could add to their score in the extra period so the game went to a shootout. After both teams scored once in the shootout, Aaron Davis secured the win for the Oilers by putting one past Gerry Festa.

Trevor Cann picked up the win for Tulsa, while Festa took the loss for Missouri.

The Oilers (21-19-2) take on the Mavericks Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
